Timothy Adès is a rhyming translator-poet from French, Spanish, German and (rarely) Greek. He has books by Victor Hugo, Robert Desnos, Jean Cassou- these two were Resistants, one lived, one died- and Alberto Arvelo Torrealba, the Venezuelan Poet of the Plains. He has awards for the 1st three, and for the Mexican, Alfonso Reyes. Bertolt Brecht and Sikelianós are also favourites. He runs an occasional book stall of translated poetry. He has rewritten Shakespeare’s Sonnets, avoiding the letter e and wrote a long poem using no vowell, except e. He is a Trustee of Agenda Magazine.
