Christopher Delaney was born in 1959, lives in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, and works as a self-employed gardener. He began writing poetry after a 35 year break, encouraged by his English teacher from secondary school, who contacted him via the Friends Reunited website.
His poems have been published in a number of competition anthologies including the Ver Poets Society, the Norwich Writers Circle, Lumen Cold Weather Shelter Refuge, and Sentinel, and on 3 occasions won second prize in the Ver Poets Ten Liners Competition.
He has given numerous readings with the Ver Poets at various venues, and his poems have been broadcast on Radio Verulam. ‘Banking Towards Home’, his debut poetry pamphlet, was published by Poetry Space Ltd. in 2017, and his first full collection, ‘Mapping Shadows’, will be published by Poetry Space in the autumn of 2019.
His pen drawings of St. Albans landmarks illustrate some of the Ver Poets publications.
