Heather Close-Up 1I am an Indian born in Durban, South Africa in 1949. I have lived in London., UK since 1951.

I am a qualified secondary school teacher specializing in English and Divinity. I also have higher qualifications in Business Studies, Health Service Management and Psychology.

I was a manager in the National Health Service for 28 years. My last jobs as a Business Manager were to set up Forest Healthcare Trust and Newham Healthcare Trust.

I have lived in Palmers Green, London Borough of Enfield since 1965. I am community minded and as such have carried out voluntary work in the Borough for the past 37 years. This has included work with the Samaritans, Enfield Gateway Club for the Mentally Handicapped and Enfield Community Health Council. I was Chairman of the latter in the late 1980s. I am currently a volunteer at The North London Hospice, Winchmore Hill.

I have been writing poetry for the past 58 years. I also paint and compose songs from my poems. The latter can be heard on the website soundcloud ( my username is Fuchsiaone )

I am also a keen amateur photographer. I was a member of Southgate Photographic Society specializing in floral photography. I had an exhibition of my photos at the hospice in 2015.
